2 Bed flat with sea view
Our client recently moved to Hove from East London, and was delighted to find this generous 2-bed flat with a sea view to rent. The existing decoration and style were not to their taste; white, textured, wallpaper and brown carpet throughout made the space feel old-fashioned.
Chris asked for our help making this into a stylish, comfortable home – within the restrictions of their rental agreement.
To make the largest impact we focussed on the main habitable rooms; painting selected colours in warm, rich colours to make the rooms feel comfortable & stylish, and to make their artwork pop.
His existing furniture included brightly coloured accent pieces and a comfortable but slightly tired grey corner sofa. We brought the look together with selected furniture in Oak, and colourful cushions & other accessories. We selected fast growing & hardy houseplants to quickly inhabit the space – making it look like they had been at home for years.
The long hallway would have been onerous for the client to re-decorate at the end of their tenancy, and replacing the old-fashioned ceiling lights would have required re-wiring. We used origami lamp-shades ‘covers’ and large format ‘washi’ tape for a fun transformation that leads the eye into the living space.
The letting agent was amazed at the transformation from slightly old-fashioned anonymity to this cool, comfortable and welcoming home.
