The client engaged us to help design and manage the renovation of his amazingly-located water-front flat, in preparation for it being rented out. The flat was in good condition but was a bit dated decoratively, the layout of the main bedroom was not especially efficient and we didn’t think the abundant natural light was used as well as it could be throughout.  The flat is grade II listed so required an application for listed building consent and extensive liaison with the freeholder/ management co.

We redesigned the main bedroom layout, reducing the ensuite to a more suitable size, which allowed for a new spacious dressing room. Upstairs in the large kitchen/ living/ dining room, we replaced the previous half-wall stairway balustrade with a much less intrusive, bespoke design handrail. This opened up the space dramatically, improving light and sense of space. The existing kitchen was given new life by installing new flooring, replacing the splashback and fitting new cupboard handles – transforming the feel of the kitchen for minimal cost.

The client was so pleased with the results, they have opted to retain use of the flat rather than rent it.
